its been a while since i last blogged about chemistry stuff...

To be exact..i am super disappointed in my chemistry results... but this result had awaken me and let me know that i shouldnt slack so much..i will work extremely hard for the next promo results and make sure my grades are much better... i had borrowed some cds from the library of exam papers and hope this will help me improve my overall every results...

chemistry new teacher

a starting of a new term..and we got one new chem teacher..i find her quite nice and her way of teaching also quite good...just that i find our class quite noisy...this is rather frustrating sometimes...cos its quite difficult to learn sometimes in such a noisy environment..but lets hope things will get better =)

and the gaseous state the notes i got le...tomorrow going to do the tutorial and study for gaseous state =) lets work hard and get good results for promo 2 =)

chemistry promo exam

today we got back our promo exam results for chemistry... i did pass la..but den i am not reli satisfied with the results..and i can onli have myself to blame la...and i saw quite a few careless mistake here and there.. i promised myself..i will practise even more qn and would work even harder to make sure my next exam i will score better grades!!

quite a while

its been quite a while since i last blogged..

school had been getting busier with different things going on such as the ideas in action, Mi carnival, MI Mart ...etc...

And we had recently just finished our lemon practical mock exam..overall i find the mock exam ok...juz tt i had some problems here n there.. but i will work hard n learn from the mistakes.. .

overall for all the topic for the promo exam..i think the more challenging topic for me is the redox reaction and also the chemical boinding.. i am quite not clear about the concept.. therefore, i will make full use of the holiday to get clear of the concepts..N the HT period had made us plan our time table for the holiday...N i strongly belive that if i really follow the schedule and study all the diferent subjects and topic.. the promo after June holiday shouldnt be a problem..

Here i wish every1 have a nice holiday n all the best for their promo =)

test results..

today miss loh told us that the mole test we took last week was atrocious!! she said that majority failed...there is even 0 marks.. quite scary.. she said that tml will return us the paper.. lets pray n hope i will do gd for this paper.. (the paper tt i took the next day of eric bday celebrations)

and the atomic stucture n another mole test is coming.. next week...the atomic stucture i was quite confused...so quite scared for the test.. jy jy jy ...will try to understand more b4 the test.. .stil got this weekend to study.. hehe

chemistry lesson today

today we had the chemistry lesson for the disscussion of the graph that i did yesterday. Ms Chan came over and scolded some of our classmates for not handling some of the assignments. After scolding, there left our class with Ms loh.. Ms loh was also quite angry with us. In fact, she is VERY angry with us. This is becaue almost half the class never did the graph. She is very angry as she said that the excuses that the people gave is lame. After that, she taught us about the ionization energies level. I was still feeling quiet blur for the ionization energies level and also the shielding effect. I plan to go home and try to digest the infomation learnt, which is now that i am looking at the graph and the notes i took just now in the lesson. If there is any problem, will go and look for either one of the teacher tomorrow for clarification.

chemistry IT activity

Wow i finally finished my graph plotting using excel. It was indeed an accomplishment for me. As i am a totally computer idiot. I didn't expect myself to be able to plot a graph out! But all thanks to the video that is being put to teach us how to draw the graph. I realized i had already spent a few hours on the graph. Oh dear! I think i should speed up. Anyway, i think that after drawing and printing our the graph. I realised that there is a trend between metal and non metal on the ionisations level. Oh right. This is really last minute work and i am only doing it now when i could had done it during the holiday. So i am still trying to figure out different observation to filled up for the worksheet. And there is the PAUL REASONINGS WHEEL AGAIN! Actually i am not very sure of the usefullness of the wheel. I always had a hard time trying to fill the form up. And i don't understand what it can help us on. Alright, i will wish myself good luck for completing this work .

Anyway, we had another chemistry test today. And it was after PE.  Quite tiring for us. And i realised one serious problem. I always had difficulty to finish the paper within the given timeline as compared to the time during O level. I recalled in the past when i will always have time to look around or take a small nap during exam or test as i will finish early. But in the case here, i will always struggle to finish my paper within the given time. This is the case for today's test too. Even though i just manage to finish, but i was rushing through all the way to catch the time. It was quite worrying. Perhaps i think i should do more practise to keep my speed up again. It was quite worrying for me as this is not the case for chemistry. The few tests that i had in the past few weeks is also having this problem. 3 more years to the A level. I think i need to buck up a lot more.

chemistry practical today

we had the chemistry practical for tdy lesson... 

Today we did the titration of NAOH and H2X.. 

Because of the dilution..we only need around a volume of 5.68 cm3 to get to the end of of the experiment. Today Ms Low also let me know that sometimes solution might already be very neat the end point. And therefore even if there is one last drop that change the colour, the colour is change significantly. However, this is alright as it is unavoidable. 

We had already done a few experiments from school term start till now. Now i am already getting use to doing the experiment after resting for 3 years.. 

And as for the planning of experiment, i realised i had done something wrong for it.. No wonder i find it weird when i did it during the holiday..shall discuss more with the rest tomorrow. 

chemistry 2nd post...

Today i was doing on the designing of the practical for chemistry.  I had realised that actually it is quite to design a good practical assignment, that cater to every needs and method and also procedure for the students to understand how to proceed with the experiment and then link it to getting the overall result that is the aim of the project. 

As for the practical experiment that we had designed, it is quite easy for us as we had been exposed to the same type of experiment before and that we had been learning on the number of moles and so it is still within our ability to design the experiment, 

I find that designing a practical experiment is quite challenging for me as it was a totally new experience for me. But i will try my best to get to familiarize with the procedure and get used to thinking of planning a experiment. 

chemistry first posting

I now officially announce the official opening of my chemistry blog. 

Lets start by saying my opinion on chemistry. Chemistry seems fun to be. I enjoys having chemistry lessons. However, i realized that after 3 years away from chemistry, i had a hard time catching back all the knowledge that i previously know. It seems that i had forgotten a lot of the stuffs and i had borrowed a few chemistry books from the school library but i don't seems to understand what the book had said. I was feel quite upset and scared over it. It's quite a challenge to me. I know that my 3 years in MI will be much tougher and difficult than the rest of my classmates. As they had just graduate from secondary school and their knowledge on the subject is still there. However, i feel that even if i am lagging behind now, i will be able to catch up sooner or later as long as i am willing to work hard!!!
